To set up ALS if you're using EBSCO EDS, you'll need the following information:
- Profile ID
- Customer ID
- API User ID
- API Password
Once you have those details, log in to your Lean Library Dashboard and navigate to Futures > Additional Library Search:
- Click the ADD NEW button near the top right of the screen
- You'll then see a window pop up with various options.
- Choose a name for the knowledge base you'd like to appear in the ALS widget (eg your library's discovery layer)
- Choose EBSCO as the source type, and the search engine you'd like ALS to appear on (Google, Google Scholar or both)
- When you choose EBSCO as your source type, the window will expand with the following additional options:
- The Source URL field will be pre-populated. Input the rest of the information in the relevant fields.
- In the Group ID field, input main
- In the Auth type field, input cookie,guest,ip
- Once you're done, just click Save. Caching times are instant for ALS, so you should immediately see the option you've configured in the ALS widget in Google/Google Scholar.
