Help your students make more informed decisions about the academic sources they discover online with Research Integrity.
When students search for academic content, Signals will display clear, colour-coded indicators:
- Alert (red): Important concerns have been identified and should be reviewed.
- Caution (yellow): Some information may require closer examination.
- Looks good (green): No significant concerns have been identified in the available assessment data.
Understanding the assessment from Signals
When you click to open the Research Integrity card, it will include a link out to Signals' webpage with more details on the given article or journal.
In addition, users may see supplementary information Smart Citations from Scite.ai. This context can support further exploration of a source, but it does not affect the primary assessment provided by Signals.
Research Integrity indicators are designed to support critical evaluation. Each indicator reflects the information available at the time and should be considered alongside the article itself, the journal, its authors, and the wider research landscape.
How will Signals help your students?
When an article is detected, the metadata will be sent to Signals and the related information will appear either as a Floating Action Button on an academic page or a widget on search databases, such as Google Scholar and PubMed:

How to enable this feature?
Signals integration will be enabled for all institutes as a default. However, if you'd like to change this, you can easily do this in our Integration Settings page in the Lean Library dashboard. Please follow the steps highlighted below:
