When an article is not available at the library holding and that it is also not available with Open Access, the extension will go to the last step - direct the patrons to request it with Interlibrary loan.
Generally, our extension can integrate with any order form. To configure it, we need the base URL of your form. Please click here to see how you can set up the base URL.
If your order form can support the parameters injected into the URL, the next step will be configuring the parameters of your order form with the extension. Once this is set up, the metadata of the article will be automatically populated by the extension.
This mean when your patrons click the pop-up link, all the info of the article will be filled in, just like in this URL: https://support.leanlibrary.com/ill/index.php?client=weizmann&lng=1&title=The Lancet&atitle=Randomised placebo-controlled trial of effect of ramipril on decline in glomerular filtration rate and risk of terminal renal failure in proteinuric, non-diabetic nephropathy&aulast=Giuseppe Remuzzi&publisher=Elsevier BV&spage=1857&pages=1857-1863&volume=348&issue=9069&doi=10.1016/s0140-6736(96)11445-8&issn=0140-6736&isbn=9781607505556&date=2015-01
The parameters in the URL can be configured to any values. For the step-by-step manual explaining this configuration process in the dashboard, please refer to this article.
What if my order form is not publicly accessible?
If your order form is only accessible to authenticated users (e.g. is behind a login page) and that the authentication system 'handles' the parameters in the URL, the metadata will still be populated after authentication.
However, even if the parameters are not handled (e.g. are lost during the authentication), we can still redirect your users to your order form. But in this case, the order form will not be pre-populated.
