If your institution has enabled the Workspace feature for your users, it is also important to understand how they use the LLW features to support their research. This article explains all the statistics availbale for you on the Workspace feature.
When you are on your Lean Library admin dashboard, you can find the Workspace stats, as shown in the screenshot below.
Filter by period
When viewing statistics, it is important to be able to filter the stats to specific periods to be able to compare the behaviour of your users. This can be done on the Workspace stats page by clicking on the date as shown below:
As a librarian, you can select any of the options in this downlist to filter the results to a specific period.
What type of statistics can we see here?
Active Users: This refers to users who have logged into Lean Library Workspace with an internet connection. We deduplicate the data to ensure each user is only counted once, and display it in the graph to show unique users who were active at least once during the month.
Highlights made: This refers to the Highlight and annotate feature in Workspace. In this section of the Stats, you can see how many sections of text were highlighted and saved by your users.
Annotations made: This refers to the same features (Highlight and Annotate). In this section, you can see how many times users have annotated (notes added) to their highlighted texts.
References saved: This refers to the total number of references saved to Workspace by the users.
Cited Articles imported: Once users import a main article, they are given the opportunity to import the cited article to their Workspace. This refers to the total number of Cited Articles imported by the users.
Projects created: Users can create their individual or shared projects on Workspace to organise their research better. This refers to the total number of Projects created by your user.
Viewed in Workspace: This refers to the total number of times the user clicked on the "View in Workspace" button on teh extension to view the references they saved via the Lean Library extension. See the example below.
Sign up: This refers to the total number of times the users clicked on the Sign up button on the Lean Library settings page to sign up with a Workspace account. Click here to find out more about connecting the Lean Library extension with the Workspace account.
Already have an Account: If a user already has a Workspace (formerly Sciwheel) account, they can click this option to authenticate with their existing account. This refers to the total number of "I already have an account" button clicked.
Maybe later: Users can also choose to connect (or sign up) to their Workspace account later. This refers to the total number of "May be later" options clicked by your users.
Onboarding: Back: This refers to the total number of times the user didn't select any of the 3 authentication options, but clicked the Back button on the left top of the screen to skip connecting to the Workspace.
