How to make your Lean Library experience a success.
Introduction
Purchasing Lean Library is only the beginning of the journey. The areas outlined in this checklist are all contributors to incorporating and promoting your library's resources into your patrons workflows. Print this out and tick them off as you go.
Review objectives
- You had some aims and objectives that the purchase of Lean Library was designed to meet. Have you reviewed these now that you have had Lean Library for some time?
Project Board
- Do you have a team of people who take responsibility for the way that Lean Library is used in your institution?
- Do you meet regularly to discuss who specific tasks are contributing to your objectives and targets?
Rollout
- Have you explored the mass rollout of the extension to all computers on campus?
- Have you setup your Branded Download Page?
- Are you using the "Point of Need" message generator?
- Have you considered email campaigns to users?
Awareness through integration
- Do you advertise the extension on your library website?
- Have you got an Assist Message linked to your reading list system?
Who can access your dashboard?
- Do you have the right and enough library staff to be able to make changes?
- How will you add new resources and guidance when needed?
Feedback and evaluate
- All the while that you are meeting with users using Lean Library, are you gathering their feedback and using it to inform decision making?
Routine
- Have you got a set of routine tasks that you aim to complete each year?
Staff Training
- Have you got a process in place for making sure that new and returning staff are introduced to Lean Library?
Ask if it is possible
- Have you asked the community for advice?
- Have you asked the Lean Library support desk for advice?
- Have you submitted your ideas to our idea portal?
