The Access feature helps patrons to access digital resources easily. This feature consists of three ways of accessing resources: via Proxy, OpenAthens or Shibboleth.
Once the integration has been set up, a pop-up will appear on your e-resources and prompt your patron to login via your authentication system.
How does this integration work?
We integrate with Proxy, OpenAthens and Shibboleth. This integration aims to get you authenticated in a quick and smooth process, so that once you have authenticated, you will be able to view the content your library has subscribed to.
Proxy
If you arrvie at jstor.org, which is listed as your library e-resource, you will be prompted a pop-up to get you authenticated, once you have done so successfully, you will be redirected back to the website. You will also notice that a proxy login URL will be injected automatically populated. To understand more, please read this article.
This means, when you are within this browser session, you will stay logged in and will be able to view library subscribed content.
OpenAthens and Shibboleth
If you arrvie at jstor.org, which is listed as your library e-resource, you will be prompted a pop-up to get you authenticated, once you have done so successfully, you will be redirected back to the website.
With OpenAthens and Shibboleth, because they work differently from proxy, you will therefore see that you have signed in with your library. The URL will stay the same.
