The Access feature helps patrons to access digital resources easily. This feature consists of three ways of accessing resources: via Proxy, OpenAthens or Shibboleth.
Once the integration has been set up, a pop-up will appear on your e-resources and prompt your patron to login via your authentication system.
What does the Access feature do?
With the extension active, when you arrive at an e-resource, you will be shown a pop-up which prompt you to click and get authenticated. This is how the pop-up will usually look like:
Once you have clicked the "Get Access" button, you will be redirected to the library authentication page. Once the authentication is successful, you will be redirected back to the original webpage you were on, and you will remain signed in for the rest of the browser session.
What authentication system do you support?
We can integrate with Proxy, OpenAthens and Shibboleth. Below table outlines what will be required to set up the Access integration:
Proxy | we integrate your authentication system with your proxy server domain along with the licensed eRecourses domains. To manage your list of eRecourses domains, you can also set up automate the import of your eRecourses domains. More info can be found here. |
OpenAthens | we integrate your authentication system by adding your OpenAthen Entity ID and the OpenAthens Scope. |
Shibboleth | we integrate your Shibboleth Identity Provider (IdP) either via Lean Library Shibboleth redirector or your own custom redirector. |
