Lean Library Cite enables patrons to effortlessly obtain citations for the materials they are studying. Upon reaching an article or eBook, patrons will encounter the "Get Citation" button.
What can I cite?
Please be aware that, at present, Lean Library Cite exclusively supports citations for articles and eBooks. However, other reference types such as websites will also be supported in the future.
How does it look on the extension?
While researching with the extension, if a pop-up related to an article or eBook appears, you will also notice a "Get Citation" button, as depicted below:
If you wish to obtain a citation for an article or eBook, simply click on "Get Citation" within the pop-up, choose a style and click "Copy Citation". Once done, the citation will be copied to your clipboard, allowing you to easily paste it into your research paper.
What style of citation do you support?
We integrate with Citation Style Language to provide citation styles.
When using the dropdown, search for the short title (abbreviation) or the long title. If the short title is unavailable, the dropdown list will display only the long title.
How to enable/disable it?
Patrons will not be able to disable this for themselves, as this feature is automatically enabled in the extension. However, if you wish to disable it for all your patrons, please follow these steps:
Go to Integration Settings on the dashboard> Citations > and then switch the toggle off.
You can select the institute's preferred citation styles to appear at the top of the drop-down list to make it easier for your patrons to find.
Start typing the name (not the acronym) of the citation style and select from the drop-down list > Hit Save to save your settings.
If you are interested in uploading a new citation style or updating an existing style, Please read this article which explains the process.
