Please click here to watch a tutorial on how to use the Blocked Domains feature.
With the Block Pop-ups feature, you can now block specific extension pop-ups from appearing on selected domains.
Setting up Blocked domains:
1: In the Lean Library Dashboard, select General Settings > Blocked domains > click Add new domain
2: Add the domain that you to block. Additionally, select what feature(s) you wish to block on that domain, then press Save
Editing / deleting existing added domains
You can edit/delete existing blocked domains. To edit any of them, please click on the edit icon and apply your changes. To delete any of them, please click on the trash icon.
How does it work?
1: Wildcards can be used. For example using *.google.com -would make every subdomain plus every possible path will be blocked.
2: Entering google.com, will only block this specific URL. To block all variant of this URL (Such as google.com/maps) you would enter google.com/*/
3: Rules are aggregated, in case of multiple entries added to the same domain.
For example, when the following are added in the dashboard:
Example rule 1: www.example.com - Library Access to be blocked
Example rule 2: www.example.com/folder1/something - Library Assist to be blocked Example rule 3: www.example.com/folder1/something/path.com - Library Alternatives: eBook Finder blocked
Then the following will happen:
www.example.com/folder1/something/path.com: here, Library Access will be blocked (because of rule 1), Library Assist will be blocked (because of rule 2), and Library Alternatives: eBook Finder will be blocked (because of rule 3).
Some tips to configure Blocked Domains
1: Domains can be set up to not show Assist messages. When specifying a domain, do not include protocols (http / https)
2: Always try to be as specific as possible, but without adding the query string
e.g. subdomain.domain.tld/path/
