Lean Library extension has many valuable features to support your patrons' workflow. Below are the most highlighted features of the Product:
What is the Access feature?
The Access feature enables the patrons to easily access e-resources through your proxy server, OpenAthens, or Shibboleth authentication systems. When the patron browses a domain that is listed on your e-resource setting on the dashboard, the browser extension will redirect them to the proxied URL.
Please follow the below steps to fully configure the Access features:
1: Add your On-Campus IP ranges, in order to know when a patron is ON or OFF campus. Click here to find out how to do that.
2: Add your proxy, OpenAthens, or Shibboleth server domain to the dashboard. Please click here to find out more
3: Import your e-resource domains to the dashboard by our automated system. Find more information here.
What is the Alternatives feature?
Alternatives feature helps patrons to easily access e-resources in alternative ways. This service consists of three alternative ways of accessing resources: Article Alternatives, eBook Alternatives and Open Access Alternatives (OA). Find more information here.
What is the Assist feature?
With Assist, you can customise messages and communicate them to your patrons, when they land on certain websites via a popup message. The Assist message will be shown on any page or sub-page (as specified in the set-up) of a given domain. It will only be shown once per browser session once it is closed. Find more information here.
