Custom Redirect will automatically redirect a user from one URL to another. For example, if your library website has changed, you may consider using Custom Redirect to redirect your patrons from the old website to the new one.
What will it do exactly?
Custom Redirect will automatically and immediately redirect a patron from the exact URL to another URL you have set up. This means, the patron will not be notified of the redirection until it has completed. This is a useful and powerful feature, yet should be used cautiously.
What will happen if Custom Redirect is set up?
After Custom Redirect is set up, if a patron has the extension installed and has arrived at the URL that Custom Redirect was set up, they will be redirected automatically, without asking for any consent.
We usually suggest Assist Message as first option, so your patrons can be notified by a pop-up message and have the option to click the hyperlink and get redirected. However, if you prefer the end-users to be re-directed without any options, then Custom Redirect will be the option to go for.
How to set it up?
Please contact support@leanlibrary.com and provide the exact URL for which you would like to setup a Custom Redirect.
Only exact matches will be handled, and thus you might need to provide multiple URLs. Please also provide the exact URL where the user is supposed to be redirected to.
